I was supposed to baked these "Thumbprint Cookies" yesterday, and Yan reminded me that last nite~ *haha*
I'm so inspired by Martha Stewart! The domestic goodess with a huge business empire worth billions$$$!
Who says you can't make a living out of housekeeping, cooking and flower arrangements??
Anyway, I've decided to try out this really, really simple recipie from Martha's Home & Living Magazine; and it taste pretty yummy =) :
1) Throw 1 cup of butter (soften) into a whisking bowl

2) Beat the butter with 1 & 1/4 cup of granulated sugar; till it is pale and fluffy

3) Put 1 tablespoon of pure vanilla essence into the butter/sugar mixture

4) Add 2 cups of seived plain flour to the butter mixture and knead into a dough

5) Now add 1 cup of lightly toasted, finely chopped almonds (or peacans) into the cookie dough & knead till the nuts are evenly spread throughout the cookie dough

Cover the cookie dough with plastic and refrigerate it for an hour.
You're done with the cookie dough! Really simple!TIME TO BAKE!:1) Roll the dough into little balls (1&1/4 inch width)
2) Place them on the baking tray, and using your
thumb, gently press down on the centre of the ball, creating a shallow hole (to be filled with icing)
That's why they are called "Thumbprint Cookies" *duh*3) Pre-heat oven till 350Farenhait, and baked for 20 to 25 mins, till golden brown
By the way, after 10 mins of baking, you can open the oven and...
insert a chopstick to "deepen" the hole of the cookies
*yah, it's like like having sex lah*THE ICING!:1) Mix 2 tablespoon + 2 teaspoon of fresh milk; with 1 cup of icing sugar
2) Add desired colouring (pink
The finish product! *Smells Heavenly!*
