"Assessment

Eight quizzes, one mid-term exam, and a final exam. Each item will receive a weight of ⅓ in the overall grade. The mid-term is scheduled on Tuesday 2/21 to allow students to get their grade back prior to the dreaded “withdraw” date.

The quizzes will be conducted in class, probably at the end of a class, at times that I pick. The overall quiz grade will consist of your best five quiz scores. There will be no make-ups for a missed quiz.

There will be no “bell curves” imposed on the grade distribution since such policies are unethical. There will be no “extra credit” options, since the concept is incoherent and often abused by faculty."
